About Newton-Wellesley Eating Disorders & Behavioral Medicine

Newton Wellesley Eating Disorders and Behavioral Medicine provides outpatient behavioral health services for individuals with eating disorders and their families.

Our expert, multidisciplinary clinical team provides outpatient consultation and treatment services to women and men 17 years of age and older suffering from Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Compulsive Eating, Body Dysmorphic Disorder & Muscle Dysmorphia. We specialize in the treatment of athletes with eating issues. Additionally, we provide treatment for individuals with co-occurring eating disorders and diabetes.

Newton Wellesley Eating Disorders and Behavioral Medicine also provides specialized Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Medicine services to individuals and their families.


NWEDBMED provides consultation and treatment services for individuals suffering from a wide range of Anxiety Disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia and other phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), as well as Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Functional GI Disorders (IBS), and for those individuals where stress or depression may impact the onset, course or outcome of a medical condition.

Under the direction of Dr. Perry Belfer, we have offices in Coolidge Corner, Brookline, MA with easy access to Boston, Cambridge, Newton and the western suburbs, as well as to colleges and universities in the Greater Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts area.



Our outpatient services include:

  • Consultation to families and health care professionals
  • Individual, group and family treatment
  • Referral for Psychiatric evaluation and psychopharmacologic treatment and Nutritional counseling with affiliated clinicians
  • Intensive case management and treatment coordination
